Skyworks RF Filters (SAW & BAW)

SKY33106-360LF

2.4 GHz BAW band-pass filter in a 2 x 2 mm package for WLAN and ISM coexistence.

The SKY33106-360LF is a Skyworks bulk acoustic wave band-pass filter for the 2.4 GHz WLAN and ISM bands, supplied in a compact 2 by 2 millimetre package. It passes the 2.4 GHz band while rejecting out-of-band signals, which keeps a 2.4 GHz radio from interfering with neighbouring bands and protects its receiver from blockers. BAW technology gives a steeper transition than a simple LC filter, so it separates the 2.4 GHz band from adjacent cellular and other services more effectively, which is exactly what dense, multi-radio products need. The small package lets a designer add that rejection with very little board area, and the filter is a natural companion to a 2.4 GHz front-end module or LNA. It is used in Wi-Fi routers, IoT gateways, smart-home hubs and other products where several radios share a small enclosure and must coexist. Choosing the filter is a trade-off among band, bandwidth, insertion loss and rejection, and our FAE team helps match the part to the coexistence requirements of the design. Every device is factory-traceable and ships with an import declaration, a certificate of origin and RoHS documentation.

FAE Professional Review

This filter is what we recommend when a 2.4 GHz radio has to live next to cellular bands without degrading. The BAW technology gives a sharper skirt than an LC filter, so it separates the bands more cleanly, and the 2 by 2 millimetre package means the cost in board area is small. Pair it with the 2.4 GHz front-end module and confirm the coexistence margins on the bench.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why use a BAW filter here?

BAW gives a steeper transition than a simple LC filter, so it separates the 2.4 GHz band from adjacent services more effectively, which matters in dense multi-radio products.

That steeper skirt is what protects coexistence.

Read the BAW filter review

How much board area does it take?

The filter comes in a 2 by 2 millimetre package, so the area cost is small compared with the coexistence benefit it provides.

Follow the reference layout to preserve the filter's rejection.
