SKY85743-21
5 GHz high-power WLAN front-end module integrating a T/R switch, power amplifier and low-noise amplifier for 802.11ax.
The SKY85743-21 is a Skyworks 5 GHz high-power WLAN front-end module that integrates a single-pole double-throw transmit/receive switch, a power amplifier, a low-noise amplifier and control logic in one conformally shielded package. It is designed for 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) access points, gateways and high-end client devices that need high output power and low receive noise in a compact radio. The module provides about 32 dB of gain and delivers roughly +21 dBm of linear output for the highest MCS rates, which is enough to build a high-performance 5 GHz radio without matching a chain of discrete components. Because the front end is tuned and characterized as a unit, the design-in effort is much lower than a discrete solution, and the shielded package gives predictable isolation and behaviour in the dense RF environment of an access point. The part runs from a single supply and includes the control logic for transmit and receive modes. Every device is factory-traceable and ships with an import declaration, a certificate of origin and RoHS documentation. BeiLuo holds this part in regional stock and our FAE team supports thermal planning, layout and bring-up.
FAE Professional Review
This is our default recommendation for a high-power 5 GHz Wi-Fi 6 radio. The integrated switch, PA and LNA remove most of the matching work that a discrete front end would require, and the shielded package behaves predictably at the power levels an access point runs. Plan the thermal path carefully, because the module runs warm at full output, and keep the antenna trace short and impedance-controlled.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the SKY85743-21 integrate?
It integrates a 5 GHz transmit/receive switch, a power amplifier, a low-noise amplifier and the control logic in one shielded package.
That removes most of the discrete matching a front end would otherwise need.
How much thermal design does it need?
At full output the module dissipates a meaningful amount of heat, so provide a solid ground and thermal path to the board and allow airflow in the enclosure.
Validate the design at the worst-case duty cycle and ambient before production.
